My Background
Art has been a pastime for most of my life, and graphic design/publishing/book production my profession. I have a degree in Art, Design and Illustration with a minor in Communications. I grew up in England and Switzerland, and have also lived in Paris, Portugal and currently California with my three kids, three dogs, three cats, two bearded dragons and one bunny...
Flags United
I create custom-made, unique, one-of-a-kind "patchwork" American Flags from pieces of painted and patterned canvas. I make my picture art appear like antiques by adding finished details; small "stitches" that I paint in, the Pledge of Allegiance in gold calligraphy and the names of family members and/or class-mates along the edges. My custom art can be any flag you like, from around the world. I can also make one in honor of a soldier or member of the Armed Forces, including his/her name, rank, dates of service and favorite quote. I offer a discount for these.
Watercolors and Prints
Using only the three primary colors, I layer light washes of watercolor to create the translucent colors I need. Some of the deeper colors are comprised of 40 to 50 layers!
